Gives you a fixed daily cash amount for every day you are in hospital - on top of your regular hospitalisation cover. Use this money for anything: food, travel, attendant charges, or to compensate for income lost while you were away from work.
HDFC ERGOStrongOptima RestoreThe base plan pays no general daily cash. A separate Hospital daily cash rider can be bought, paying ₹1,000, ₹2,000 or ₹3,000 a day. The only daily cash inside the base plan is the amount paid when you choose a shared room instead of the room you are entitled to, which is a different benefit with its own conditions.
Neither document sets out the rider's terms: how many days it pays for, whether days in intensive care count, or what it costs. Ask for the rider wording before you add it.
Care HealthStrongCare AdvantageDaily cash is an optional cover you buy. Once opted, you get the fixed amount named in your Policy Schedule, up to Rs. 10,000 a day in multiples of Rs. 1,000, for each completed 24 hours in hospital, and twice that for each 24 hours in ICU. It is capped at 30 days in a policy year, and what it pays reduces your Sum Insured for that year.
Only in-patient admissions count, so a day care procedure earns nothing, and a part day earns nothing either because payment is per completed 24 hours.
Star HealthStrongSuper StarDaily cash is an optional cover you buy. You choose the per-day amount, from Rs.1,000 to Rs.5,000, and the number of days, from 30 to 180 in a Policy Year. It pays that amount for every completed 24 hours in hospital, on top of the hospital bill, provided the in-patient or AYUSH claim itself is admissible.
The count is completed 24-hour blocks, so a stay of 30 hours pays for one day, not two. You can add or drop this cover at any renewal and the premium is charged every year.
Niva BupaStrongReAssure 3.0 · BlackHospital Daily Cash is an optional add-on that pays a fixed amount for every day you are admitted, for up to 30 days a year, on top of your hospital bill. Classic and Select pay ₹1,000 a day, Elite ₹2,000 and Black ₹4,000. It is paid only when the insurer has already paid your hospitalisation claim.
The daily cash is paid only if the main hospitalisation claim is paid. If that claim is rejected, you get nothing under this benefit either.
Star HealthLimitedStar ComprehensiveEvery admissible hospitalisation pays a fixed daily cash amount on top of the bill - Rs.500 at Rs.5,00,000 Sum Insured, rising to Rs.2,500 at Rs.50,00,000 and above. The first 24 hours of each claim are not paid, and the benefit runs for at most 7 days per hospitalisation.
A delivery or newborn claim pays no hospital cash at all - the wording removes this benefit from Section II.14 - so the days a mother spends in hospital for a birth earn nothing, even though the delivery itself is paid.
ICICI LombardLimitedElevateElevate has no daily cash you can spend as you like. The closest cover is the optional Dependent Accommodation Benefit: ₹1,000 a day towards one family member's stay for each completed day in hospital, up to 10 days, and only if a doctor certifies at least 3 days. The optional Convalescence Benefit pays ₹20,000 once a year after 10 continuous days.
The ₹1,000 a day stops after 10 days, however long the admission runs. A 20-day stay pays the same ₹10,000 as a 10-day one.
Aditya BirlaLimitedActiv One · SAVRThere is no daily cash for your own hospital stay. The only hospital cash in this range sits on SAVR, which pays ₹500 a day for up to 30 days when a parent or parent-in-law is admitted, counted for each completed 24 hours. Every other plan shows this benefit as not applicable, and the Activ One MAX policy wording contains no daily cash clause at all.
HDFC ERGOLimitedOptima SecureThere is no general daily cash in the base plan. You get a fixed amount for every day in hospital only if you buy the my: health Hospital Cash Benefit add-on, choosing a per-day amount from Rs. 500 to Rs. 10,000, paid for each continuous and completed 24 hours. The inbuilt Daily Cash for Shared Room is a different thing - it pays only when you choose shared accommodation.
The add-on has its own wording and its own UIN, so its exclusions and conditions are decided there, not in this policy.
Star HealthNot coveredFamily Health OptimaThis plan pays no fixed daily amount for the days you spend in hospital.
Care HealthNot coveredCare SupremeCare Supreme does not pay a daily cash amount for days spent in hospital. Neither the base benefits nor any of the optional benefits include a hospital daily cash allowance, so there is no fixed per-day payout on top of your hospitalisation cover. Costs like attendant charges, travel and lost income are paid by you.
Star HealthNot coveredStar Health AssureStar Health Assure has no daily hospital cash benefit. Nothing is paid as a fixed per-day amount for the days you spend in hospital, and neither document carries a row for one.
