Pays for recovery expenses after you are discharged - like follow-up doctor visits, physiotherapy, and medicines - for a set number of days. This matters a lot after major procedures like heart surgery or knee replacement, where recovery can stretch over weeks or months.

Star Health
180 days covers most recovery periods, including physiotherapy after a knee replacement or follow-up scans after cancer surgery. If you buy the Maternity Expenses optional cover, post-hospitalisation expenses are not paid under it.

HDFC ERGO
The 180 days only cover the condition you were admitted for, and only if the in-patient or day care claim was admitted. A new illness that starts in those months is a fresh claim, not post-hospitalisation.

ICICI Lombard
The wording says physiotherapy may be considered, so keep the doctor's written prescription with the bills. Expenses linked to a claim under the Optional Covers section are not paid under this benefit.
