The limit is shared with out-patient dental treatment, so a filling and a new pair of glasses come out of the same three-year amount. Claims under this section do not reduce your Sum Insured.

Niva Bupa
The eyewear allowance can be used only once in the policy year and unused amounts do not carry forward. Sunglasses are paid only if you have not claimed prescription glasses. Treatment to correct eyesight is excluded unless your power is 7.5 dioptres or more, so a routine LASIK or lens-correction procedure is paid entirely from your own pocket.

Eye disease is still treated under the ordinary hospitalisation cover; Cataract is one of the listed conditions, so it carries the 24-month specified disease waiting period. If your refractive error is below 7.5 dioptres, the full cost of corrective eye surgery is paid by you.
